For Bible prophecy to come to fruition in our society and in the world at large, a number of things must happen. Although many of these things are already occurring and many of them have already occurred, there are many other things that will certainly come to pass.
It should be remembered that the Bible prophets predicated some pretty shocking and even astonishing things to take place. In fact some of the things seem so amazing as to be almost unbelievable.
The prophet, John, in the book of Revelation proclaimed:
“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
He goes on to say… ”And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” Revelation 13:11-18.
From this passage alone we can see clearly how things are now and how they will be, are dratiscally different.
Although there is much that could be said about the above passage I am not going to do it in this post, I plan by the grace of the Creator to do that in future posts. Suffice it to say the passage presents a different picture from what we are accustomed to…especially in America.
An Interesting Article With Prophetic Significance
I came across a story recently concerning the Net Neutrality debate which had as its title: Tea Partiers Say Net Neutrality Hurts Freedom.
The article went on to point out that, ”The tea party, a movement whose success on the grassroots level is in many ways attributable to the power of free and open Internet communications, is joining the growing conservative crusade against the FCC’s plan to enforce net neutrality on internet service providers. According to one tea partier involved in the effort, the movement is opposing net neutrality because “it’s an affront to free speech and free markets.”
The push toward an Internet regulated by corporations rather than government seems to be a new part of the tea party agenda, with fears mounting that the Obama administration’s push for net neutrality is, essentially, the next cap-and-trade, government health care takeover or any of the myriad other socialist plots of the past year and a half.”
The article went on to point out that the FCC wants to basically exercise more control over internet service providers, in a process known as reclassification.
What it boils down to essentially however is that either the government is going to exercise some level of control that will inevitably lead to the curtailing of free speech or the huge corporations will so manipulate the system(many times in secret with the government) that they will, for lack of a better phrase—curtail free speech.
We Already Have Net Neutrality
What we have currently is net neutrality! What is essentially proposed by either side, be it the government(governments including ours have historically restricted the civil liberties of their people) or the corporations (that are seeking to drive prices up, restrict access to certain sites, charge more, or give special preference to site owners that can afford to pay more) we can be sure will have a chilling and restrictive effect upon the free, open and fair dissemination of information.
Issues like these can lay the groundwork for the type of society that has been foretold in Bible prophecy. Some have been warning for years that the freedom awarded by the internet to distribute information had a very limited window due to the desire of some to want to shut down certain information. In fact, evil loves secrecy and darkness, whether it be the lone criminal on the street or the criminal in government or corporate suit, secrecy is always best suited to carry out evil and malignant designs.
Does The Tea Party See This Clearly?
The Tea party has the reputation of being a grass roots movement of the people(although there are some who claim there is more to it than that), inasmuch as that is the case I am amazed that they cannot see the equal danger of being silent in the movement of the huge corporations that are moving in a direction of control that what will eventually restrict free speech.
I think many of their intentions are well placed, however they must realize a mega corporation can levy just as much power as can the government, in fact, in many instances( more than the reader may wish to believe) they essentuially control the government by providing huge sums of money to lawmakers, and influencing law makers to make laws that benefit them and that are many times a detriment to the citizens at large.
The Bible prophets did provide quite a bit of detail of how much of what will happen will play out, however, they did not provide all of the detail…and yet we are being provided an amazing snapshot, by the grace of God, of the true intents and purposes of those who would rob us of our civil liberties.
Some of the comments of the people that left comments at the end of the post in the article in discussion were interesting to read. The article was from the Talking Points Memo cite. I gather this cite is what’s called a more “liberal” site. I do not subscribe to the “liberal” “conservative” illusion. I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I realize from Bible prophecy that if any politician does not follow the blueprint then he or she is dealt with by the powers that be…in other words the real power does not really lie in any elected party, and the sooner the people accept this reality the better off they will be.
The Comments
On this particular issue it is clear that from a civil liberties view point we need to simply leave the situation alone, both the government and the corporations. However because the Tea Party seems to not be able to recognize the inherent danger in allowing the huge corpotations to run ruff shod over the people, I think some of the comments of those who chose to comment on the article made some very good points with regard to restriction of liberty…even by a non-govermental entity.
“Hmmm….so the TPers do organizing via the internet, yet they want the big telcos to set up 2 versions…one where you pay for better access, and the other which is, basically, crap?”
“It will be interesting to see what happens when internet service providers censor and block Tea Party websites from their systems.”
Read the following…
“Net neutrality is a consumer issue. These guys are mostly consumers, but they are siding with the large corporations because Obama wants to protect consumers. These guys are forgetting that it wasn’t until the government broke up AT&T and forced a sort of telecom neutrality regarding third party phone companies that the telecom industry really exploded with additional consumer options.
No, you don’t want government controlling the market. But sometimes you need them to be the catalyst that sets the next growth phase in motion, and sometimes you need them as the protector against would-be monopolists who seek to destroy the free market.”
The below post was left by a Tea Party Member:
As I have already stated in Blueprint Of Our Destruction, a TPMCafe post, the State of California has already gone far, far beyond addressing mere corporate abuse of the Internet and into full fledged control over “political speech” itself.
Yes, we Tea Patiers do, indeed, fear corporate abuse of the Internet. It will happen. Sooner or later we will have to act against this evil in the marketplace. But as can be seen in my “Blueprint Of Our Destruction” post, the clear and present damage to our sacred right to free speech remains with the government obtaining the power, under any pretense, to regulate the present Internet structure.
Let me just give you a taste of what kind of “political speech” the State of California wants to regulate on the Internet:
“…untraceable websites used to post damaging information on candidates, ranging from the sordid details of divorce trials to photos that never would appear in a newspaper. No-name e-mails from blind accounts attacking candidates. Unauthorized and unsourced YouTube videos.”
“It’s really not that complicated. The service providers want to be able to charge higher rates for a better quality of service. The problem is that it’s a slippery slope and, corporations being what they are these days, your service will end up sucking because a) you’re not a big corporation and b) you’re not paying through the nose for yoru service. That will extend the enormous and ever-growing gap between rich and poor to internet access. Just one more way to keep the riff-raff out of their gated community.”
I would really love for this to be true. But it’s not. The providers are not interested in providing better service; they want to provide artificially worse service (or no service at all) so they can charge content-producers to give them the original level of service back. What they really want is a model where Hulu (for example) has to pay them a few million for “protection” to make sure their videos can stream acceptably. If they refuse, consumers will switch to their competitor who paid the bridge-troll, because they will have better service.
“In other words, the Telcos want to put a tollbooth in between customers and content providers. They feel this is their right for owning the wires and the wireless spectrums. Nevermind that both were highly subsidized by government and represent public infrastructure.
And I suppose it goes without saying that Tea Party folks fall for this total perversion of the “free market” hook, line and sinker.”
So as you can see the corporations pose no less threat to the freedom of speech than does the government in practice. In theory sure…because the government can be heavy handed and do things legally, wherein huge corporations can deny or restrict certian liberties using economics.
We must remember that all of these things will occur…God cannot lie, Bible prophecy cannot lie…We Should Have Listened To The Prophets.
